Java Masters Competition 2006
„The game goes on ... the players change – slightly.“
Sun Microsystems is proud to bring the Java Masters contest to you again - now with BenQ Mobile who has taken over the Siemens Communications Mobile Devices Business last year.

The contest is entering its fourth year. We have been receiving more interest in the competition than ever before and more applications with greater quality are submitted. This success is a strong reflection of the vibrant Java Community and encourages us continue with this great global competition.

Therefore BenQ Mobile and Sun Microsystems are again challenging students and companies worldwide to develop wireless Java™ (J2ME) applications for the latest BenQ Mobile Java™-enabled mobile phones: Siemens SXG75, S75 and CX75.

You can become the "Student Java Master" or the "Professional Java Master" and win attractive prizes!!! Furthermore, you can reap the benefits of being awarded a "Java Master" by BenQ Mobile and Sun Microsystems, which are key drivers in the mobile Java™ world!

„Let the Games Begin! “
Starting February 6, and running until May 21, 2006, participating students and companies are asked to register and submit their developed application(s) using the BenQ Mobile "Mobility Tool Kit" (MTK) and "NetBeans 5.0 Mobility Pack". Additionally, all participants shall provide an application description and a short marketing approach.

A jury composed of both BenQ Mobile and Sun technical and marketing experts will evaluate the submitted applications, based on the following criteria:

Correct operation and appeal of the application
Ease of use and business potential
Usage and quality
The best 10 applications from each category will be pre-selected and promoted on the Java Masters web page from June 14, 2006 onwards for a period of 4 weeks. Visitors will be able to select the best 3 applications from each category through an online voting system.

We look forward to this year's submissions.
